Thanks for the replies on my other posts. My radio has returned to normal but I am still looking into a new back up power supply. It's one of those unknowns. I went through the menu's and the only thing that looked out place was in the CONFIG>WMTR (power) and that was on 40 and I set it back to 100 default. (I don't know how it got to 40. )Besides that, I also went into the menu and turned on the tones when I hit the key pad, made the LCD screen a little brighter and made the digital display numbers/letters darker. I know none of these could have fixed the problem but that's all I did and I shut off the radio. When I turned it back on later, it was like the radio never had a problem in the first place. Today I used the radio on most of the bands and my K3 worked like a charm. What ever it was, there was something between the radio and power supply draining the power supply and now the problem went away. Thanks.
