USB to RS232/DB9 adapter

Julius Fazekas n2wn
FWIW...

I purchased a reasonably priced Tripp Lite U209-000-R
Serial Adapter - mini USB Type A - DB-9 - male (U$20)
which controls my K2 fine using N1MM.

The only caveat I have with this is that it does NOT
key the rig (using the simple 2N2222/1KOhm resistor
interface) on CW. From what I hear this is not an
uncommon issue with many of the USB adapters.

Rather than pull my hair out any further, I bought a
K1EL WK2 kit. I've purchased two of his kits in the
past and have been very happy with them.

No interest in either company, just passing on my
experiences.

73,
Julius

Hi Julius,
I couldn't get the COM output of the USB adapter
to key my rig using N1MM.  Anyway, you are
better off with WK2 for excellent CW keying.
