Hello all you K3 and KPA500 (or other 6m amplifier) owners! If you also have a good
6m beam, you have a world class station capable of working me on F2 (if we have some
by March) or 6m EME (if you have some good clear terrain in front of your antenna).
I will be primarily using my own K3 with an Alpha 8406 for 6m EME and F2 from
Clipperton, and am taking my KX3 and 6m-1000 amplifier as backup.
This is just another reminder and update on how things are going ;-) All 5 boxes with
my 6m station and sleeping tent have been received in California for transfer to the
Shogun. Additionally, the crate with my generator and the two boxes for the Alpha
8406 amplifier have also been received. So we are on schedule to have everything
transferred by truck to San Diego and loaded on the Shogun for our 6 day voyage to
Clipperton, which begins on February 18. I will be leaving Montana by plane early in
the morning on February 18, so do not expect to have email after February 17.
I am just now recovering from 10 days of "breakthrough flu", so I should be in good
health for the upcoming Clipperton trip and operation. We had obtained flu shots
last year before our departure for Niue, so this recent sickness was not nearly as
bad as it could have been.
PY2YP has prepared an hourly VOCAP PowerPoint projecting MUF in various directions

installed the KST2ME TELNET client on my laptop to use in accessing the ON4KST REGION
2 and ON4KST EME chat pages. There is a chance that I MAY be able to access info
these through the main TX5K WiFi network. Regardless, I hope to be on the air before
the network is operational, so please watch for me on 6m!
