Updated Info on the New Argonaut VI

w7aqk
Hi All,

This info (see link below) was just passed on to me via GQRP-L.

There are still a lot of missing details, but it's hard for me to see how
this rig competes effectively with the KX3.

Re: Updated Info on the New Argonaut VI

At $995, it doesn't look to be competitive with the KX3, considering:

--  the missing 60m and 12m bands
--  higher minimum current consumption
--  the fact that it probably will need one or more optional filters

I'm as much a Ten-Tec fan as Elecraft, and applaud both firms for
producing amateur radio equipment in the US.  Hopefully, this radio will
have some upgrade appeal to those who have an Argonaut V or earlier
Argonaut.

I can see someone buying the 539 as a starter radio, then adding the 418
amp if QRP is not to his liking.
The sum of the two is said to be almost an Eagle, which I have already.
