Only RXD, TXD, and ground are. The rest are internal signals at internal levels. When I built mine, I did just those three, and that should work OK for your K3. Possibly someone with more than my miniscule knowledge will weigh in. 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2012 Cal QSO Party 6-7 Oct 2012 - www.cqp.org ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
You can use a cable built for connecting a K2 to a computer serial port on a K3.
You can NOT necessarily use a cable which works on a K3 with a K2. In particular, a 'standard serial cable' which has more pins connected than the ones Fred mentions can seriously damage a K2.
