I am licensed under the ARRL 600m Experimental Group which operates
495-510 KHz. The warc recommendations for 461-469, 471-478 KHz are below the current min. freq. for the K3, 480-KHz. Will the K3 operate down there with a firmware change or will it take hardware mods? If the allocation is approved our experimental license may be modified for operating (or cancelled since ham licenses will be approved). One of the deciding factors for buying my K3/10 was the ability to operate on MW bands (in TEST mode). If the K3 cannot move down there I will be forced to build a special transverter for the purpose. Just curious. 73, Ed - KL7UW, WD2XSH/45 ====================================== BP40IQ 500 KHz - 10-GHz www.kl7uw.com EME: 144-1.4kw, 432-100w*, 1296-testing*, 3400-winter? Hi Ed,
I am very interested in your 600m experiment especially how to use K3 to set up + possible antenna alternatives. If you have read my recent posts in this reflector, you will know that I am drawing expertise from this group about 600m operation. In the recent Asia Pacific Telecommunity working group regarding Agenda Item 1.23 WRC2012, it has been seriously discussed among delegates from Asia Pacific countries in the national level. cheers, Johnny VR2XMC ________________________________ 寄件人﹕ Edward R.
