Using the K3 with ACOM 1000 PA

I want to use my Acom 1000 PA with my K3
I am using the K3 internal bug and I have contected KEY OUT on the back of K3 to KEY IN on my Acom 1000
but the PA T/R relay is not closing at transmitt!
Is there someone using the K3 with Acom 1000 who could give me some advice about how to get the two
working together??

Are you certain you haven't connected the PTT on the K3 to the KEY IN on
the Acom? Look at the K3 rear panel... The clue will be if a microphone
press to talk keys the linear.
