Samir,
Using the K3 as IF for connecting to XV-144 or other transverters
should work just fine. I am using my K3 on 28 MHz to operate on
1296-MHz with a 1296/28 transverter. I ordered the 25w transverter
set to drive with 1.0mw. It runs 5w with 0.25mw and full saturated
output of 20w+ with 1.2mw. This is thru the KVX3A.
If you are concerned whether the K3 receiver will be adequate, there
should be no concern since most transverters have conversion gain
driving the IF with amplified signals.
My Downeast Microwave transverter has 17-dB conversion gain; this
means the noise figure of the transverter will dominate, improving
the receive sensitivity by 8-dB to -148 dBm. In my case, a lower
noise figure preamp is located at the antenna to further lower the
system noise and improve minimum detectable signal (MDS) to -158 dBm
(400-Hz bw).

Hello,
How's about performance on 10M band? I'm thinking to use K3 like IF
to my XV-144. Now I'm using K2.
K3 wasn't on market when this list created,
http://lea.hamradio.si/~s53ww/xvrt/xvrt.htm, Table 4: IP3 values of
different HF RIG's on 14 MHz and 28 MHz...
Thank You
