Re: [Magic Band EME] VE7BQH 50, 144 and 432 MHz Antenna Comparison Charts Update #24

Edward R Cole
Lance and Lionel,

Wow!  This a phenomenal increase in analysis.

I will have to study the convergence analyzer to use it well.  G/T is
an important measure of receiving performance for weak-signals.

BTW I have a unique antenna whose design was a modification by K6MYC
from the KLM 7LB antenna into a six-element yagi on 30-foot
boom.  Mike's analysis shows the Gain = 13.1 dBi which very close to
his JHV antenna.  But with six-elements the G/T may be very
different.  I'm not sure how much this will affect reception for an
antenna that has no elevation on eme.

Side Note:  My 6m antenna suffered breakage of two insulators last
winter and will be taken down for repair (I have one spare element,
removed from the log-periodic driven array).  I have obtained an
azimuth rotator and short tower to mount it on after repairs are
done.  This will increase ability to track the antenna, greatly from
the original manual system of ropes.  I am looking at a tower
location that is 45-feet closer to the shack so will eliminate most
of the LMR-400 feed length(lowering transmission loss by 0.3 dB).  I
will not start work on this until after I retire (again) in two weeks.
