Hi Mike,
This is normal. The W2 is merely indicating RF on the
center conductor of its sensor, just as it does in "normal"
usage. It's more pronounced on the W2 because of it's
ability to respond to really low levels of RF.
Mine does the same thing on several bands and antennas,
depending on which is connected to what. BTW, a set of
Bird meters connected to a dual sensor exhibit the same
behavior, but it isn't as obvious because the lowest range
they can display is 50W FS.
