HI Guys, I have a used W2 that has the 2kw transmitter that is not functioning properly. I can get it to read out swr on the led's if it is on the 20w range setting. If I use auto it selects the 20w range and only measures swr. There is no outputs on the led's for the power other then the 1 led being lit. When trying to do a TX as long as I am at 20w or less the swr leds light but again no power led's light up. I have tried both the sensor 1 and sensor 2 ports but it does not make a difference. I has the 12v power on mod done by the previous owner. Anyway are there any ideas on what to look for or is this thing going to have to go to elecraft for repairs. It might be interesting to get the W2 Utility running, and see if you
get a forward power measurement on that. I sounds like it is actually measuring forward power, as the range is automatically changing (evidenced by "SWR" only showing below 20W, although it's not clear, from your description, what you see with auto-ranging and higher than 20W forward power).... it seems to maybe suggest a problem with the LED display... 73, ~iain / N6ML On Sun, Aug 26, 2012 at 12:07 PM, <[hidden email]> wrote: > > HI Guys, > > I have a used W2 that has the 2kw transmitter that is not functioning > properly. > > I can get it to read out swr on the led's if it is on the 20w range > setting. I had this happen to me once. I reloaded the firmware and that fixed it.
Must've had some stray RF or something that caused the firmware to corrupt. 73, Bill K9YEQ -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of [hidden email] Sent: Sunday, August 26, 2012 2:07 PM To: elecraft list Subject: [Elecraft] W2 power reading not functioning HI Guys, I have a used W2 that has the 2kw transmitter that is not functioning properly.
