Re: W2IHY EQPlus and K2

K5WA
John,

I used the W2IHY EQ (not Plus) with both my K2s to better control the mic
audio on my Heil Proset with the HC-4 and HC-5 elements.  It worked great
and fixed the lack of sensitivity I was experiencing without the EQ in line.
Without the EQ, I could not get the K2s VOX to be as sensitive as I
preferred.  I also made good use of the Noise Gate built into the W2IHY EQ.
Connecting it was no problem since I was only interested in VOX operating
and not PTT.  I simply connected the mic output on the EQ to the mic input
on the K2.you're done!  It sounded great.  The Plus version gives you more
bands to adjust (I believe), but BASS and TREBLE were all I ever needed to
have fantastic audio.  I have since purchased a pair of K3s which have the
EQ and Noise Gate built in and have sold the W2IHY and one K2 on eBay, but
you should have great reports when you get it hooked up.

Good luck,

Bob K5WA
