Hello all,
Has anyone installed a digital voice recorder in a K2? I activate lighthouses and covered bridges all the time using ssb and it sure would save my voice. I presently use my TS-570D only because it has the optional voice recorder in it. My dream would be to use my K2 100w Rig, which I only have the low power version now, that has a voice recorder in it. By the way, I'm presently installing the KIO2 interface in my K2 and will use my Palm 105 (PDA) to control the K2. I will be able to change bands, frequencies and send cw from preloaded messages in the Palm - neat! The Palm 105 will even log and dupe for me! I then Hot-Sync the Palm on my desktop and I have a nice log on it too to play around with etc. I'm in the process of writing an article all about this adventure. 72, Ed, WA3WSJ _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Radio Shack sells/sold a board for $9.95 which held up to 10 seconds..one
message. I installed one in a small handheld box which i use for PTT / interface for a computer headset /boom mike. The"ALTEC' branded boom headset with electret mic was closed out at Compusa for $7.95...and the combo sounds great. Bill At 08:08 AM 6/3/2005, Edward R. Seriously, some of the voice keyers you hear in action during contests are pretty poor. Another possible solution -- I believe some PDAs can play MP3 or WAV files,
so if you pre-record files on your home PC, they can be loaded onto the PDA for playback. You would have to create some sort of interface between the PDA output and the mic jack and the PTT line if you do not use VOX. I use Total Recorder (www.highcriteria.com) to create recordings on the computer - most anything you can send through the sound card can be recorded. 73, Don W3FPR > -----Original Message----- > > Has anyone installed a digital voice recorder in a K2?
