WA3WSJ at Keystone International Balloon Festival

Edward R. Breneiser-2
Hello all,

I know this isn't a lighthouse, but I'm just so excited about putting on
the Keystone International Balloon Festival. I thought you would like to
know about this nice event and some of the details as the proceeds go to
charities.

First thing - this counts towards a WA3WSJ Nomad Award. The balloon
festival is held at Lancaster, PA at a park in the heart of the PA Dutch
country. There will be balloons there from numerous countries and ham
radio will be there too! The festival runs from September 24-26. I will
set up a special event station in the park Thursday afternoon on the
23rd.

Event:   Keystone International Balloon Festival Special Event
Date:    September 24-26
When:    9/23 2000utc to 9/26  2200utc
Bands:   80m, 40m, 20m & 15m
Modes:   SSB, CW & PSK31
Freq.:   3.535/3.975; 7.035/7.070/7.275; 14.035/14.070/14.275;
21.035/21.375

QSL information

Please qsl to WA3WSJ at the CBA. Here's the kicker - I have permission
to  use a PA Dutch County's Artist's artwork on the QSL card and
certificate! Yes, the qsl cards and the certificate will have a PA Dutch
Country theme. If you work the station on the 24th, 25th & 26, you can
send for a gorgeous 8.5" x 11" photo certificate with the local artist's
artwork on it!

By the way, if you come out to the festival, why not operate the station
an hour or two.  I will have the following radio etc. there:

RADIOS:
Kenwood TS-570D
Elecraft K2

Antennas:
VBWFPA
VBWFPA-80m

Here's a link to the balloon festival's web site for more information.
