There appears to be a bug that will kill
SPLIT. Joe Subich has confirmed that holding SUB button slightly longer
than a "TAP" will kill SPLIT. This happened to me in a pileup on
30M. I don't believe "linking/unlinking" SUB should kill
SPLIT.
I hope this gets on the list of fixes.
