WB3AAL's New Mounting Device for the VBWFPA

WB3AAL
Hello,

Over the winter time I have been struggling with going out and setting up
my WA3WSJ's VBWFPA antenna, www.wa3wsj.com. The present mounting system is
PVC tubing that you need to drive into the ground. Needless to say when the
ground is frozen or there are a lot of rock in the soil the PVC splits. With
my new system you can use a rock in the area or just push on the ground rod
to drive it into the ground.

I came up with a new mounting device that would allow you to drive a short
22" to 24" ground rod into the frozen or rocky soil and slip a PVC tube over
the ground rod. Then you will also be able to take a jumper from the ground
rod to the grounding side of the antenna. The ground rod will also have a
small carrying tube for back packers so the rod will not puncture the pack.

This will be for the existing VBWFPA's that are already out there and I am
Ed said he will place a link on his web for any new antennas that anyone
will purchase as of today. It will be for the QRP and QRO version of the
antenna. I am also working on a version for mounting the DK Pole into the
ground.

If anyone is interested I have pictures and a price up on my web site,
www.wb3aal.com . If you plan on being at the Atlanticon Forum and you would
like to have one for then, I can try too have some made up for then.

72 and Thanks,
Ron Polityka
