WPX propagation

Tony Estep
Unfortunately, the ionosphere has staged a sick-out, and so far the
much-anticipated WPX is something of a fizzle. The clusters are spotting
mostly K/W, and I hear a lot of stateside stations working each other. The
bands from 20 up have been miserable, not even the usual Euros coming
through to my qth in Missouri. Last night around the time that there are
ordinarily a dozen or more Russians booming in here, only one weak one was
to be heard. I guess my crowing (around the equinox) about the resurging
cycle must have jinxed everything.

Re: [OT] WPX propagation

Phil Hystad-3
Yesterday, right after WPX started I heard a Brazil station and I responded
but he did not copy me.  He was weak and I was probably even weaker to
him.

Last night after 10 PM I heard a large number of Canadian stations, even
some in the east (e.g. VA2EW) which was a nice change from the K/W
calls.  That was on 20 meters (~14015 area).  But, my QTH is Seattle
area and Canada, or at least part of it, is just 90 miles north.

Yep, it's disappointing. So far, I've worked more stations and more prefixes than in 2009 yet my score is lower due to the lack of very many DX stations with their higher QSO point value.

I guess any chance of much DX will come this evening on 40 meters.
