I just received the confirmation that it has been decided in Geneva to allocate 472 - 478 kHz for amateur service worldwide. Right now we have approval to use a small band above 500 kHz (501 - 504). I use the K3 in 'test' mode to make 1,5 mW on 500 kHz to further externally amplify the signal by a few transistors and a FET (see article on Elecraft site), using the transverter out port. I am not sure if i can still use this practice when the frequency will be shifted some 30 kc down. Will that still work? If not, what can we do to modify the K3 to still use it for this band?
Thanks for lending your brains :)
