WTB: Option Ready rev. G Headers for K2

Dr. John
Hi, everyone,

I am getting ready to build my second K2, and I would like to try the
"Rework Free-Option Ready" System but they have no more rev. G Headers to
sell me.

Thanks, and let me know what's out there and how much it costs.

John

  John,

Well, it is not as "neat" as the Rework Eliminators kit, but you can
order and install all the headers for the various K3 options that you
wish to consider.  In place of the UNPCBs, put a 4.7 pf capacitor
between pins 1 and 3 of J15 (the K60XV option) and a jumper between pins
3 and 5 of J13 (again the K60XV option.

For the K160RX, install the header and put a jumper between 14 pin 1 and
pin 7.
For the KNB2, instead of W5, put a jumper between J12 pin 1 and pin 6 -
wait until you actually install the KNB2 to change the resistors on the
RF board.

For the KSB2, install the headers for J9, J10 and J11 - the put a bent
wire jumper between pins 1 and 3 of J9 and J10 (in place of W2 and W3 on
the RF Board.  In addition, do not install C167, but stick its leads
into pins 7 and 12 of J11.

For the KAFT2 (or KDSP2), install the headers J1 and J2 and put a jumper
between J1 pin 1 and J2 pin 1, and another jumper between J1 pin 2 and
J2 pin 2.

Install the AUX RF and AUX DC headers on the RF board - KAT2 and KBT2
options or the KPA100.

With those additions, you will be ready for any of the options to be
plugged into the K2 RF Board - the K60XV will require some additions to
the RF board when the K60XV is installed and the KNB2 will require that
the resistors forming the -5 dB pad be changed per the KNB2
instructions, but it will all work.

Cost equals the headers plus a few bent up pieces of wire to stick into
the headers and serve as the UNPCBs.
