What gain stage does the RF Gain pot control?

Hi,
Can somebody tell me what amplifier stage the RF gain pot controls? Is
it the IF Amp via signal VIFGAIN1?

Yes. Nearly all radios that have an RF GAIN control actually use this  
control to set the gain of an I.F. stage, or set the threshold of AGC  
upward, or both. True "RF" gain control is usually in the form of  
switchable RF amplifiers or attenuators in the front end.
