What type of Mallet is best as an "all-rounder"?

I'm torn between what Mallet to buy.
Rawhide, Nylon or Rubber?
I can't afford to buy all three (plus, not sure if i need all 3 anyway).
But i'd like to know which one(s) you guys use and which would be best as an all-rounder?
