Would like to experiment with hyperterminal to the k2

I have the proper OEM serial cable for my K2.
I would like to experiment with sending frequency commands to the K2
using Windows Hyperterminal.
I'm sure that by now there are perhaps tons of user notes on the steps
one takes to do this.

Does anyone have any notes they can point me too?

Crank up Hyperterminal and point it at the com port that is connected to
the K2.
Then use the commands in the K2 Programmer's Reference document to
initiate commands and evaluate the responses.

Yes, it as easy as that.
