This note is to urge new K2 builders like me to take the time to
calibrate the 4 MHz master oscillator with the WWV method and to align
your filters using Spectrogram or similar software. (See elecraft.com's
Builder Resources page.) The assembly instructions get you in the
ballpark, but fine tuning the settings is most definitely worthwhile.
I finished the K2 and options a few days ago but only got around to fine
tuning things last night. And like the subject line says, wow, what a
difference! My narrowest CW filters hadn't been especially useful till
now, & I also discovered the control board's C22 needed a bit of
adjustment. None of it was hard, but that C22 is sensitive when you're
trying to juuust move it a little.
Anyway, just wanted to mention, as many others have I'm sure, that you
want to do this! 73,
