The output of my XG-2 suddenly dropped by about half on 40 and 20, and it
doesn't oscillate at all on 80.
The regulated voltage is correct at 1.22V. The voltage drop across R2, the
emitter resistor, is about .650V, indicating an emitter current of .03 mA.
The drop across R3, the collector resistor, is ~ .001V (as nearly as I can
measure), indicating a collector current of about .06 mA. The RF is too
weak to see on my scope.
I thought D1, the protective output diode, might have been popped by ESD, so
I removed it, but that changed nothing. I looked at all the solder joints
under my stereo microscope and reflowed them, but that also changed nothing.
Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tony KT0NY
