XV144 with K3

Johnny Siu
Hello Group,

My K3 is equipped with KRX3 and KXV3.  When I operate at 145.650mhz repeater channel with XV144, could anybody advise what is the right setting so that I can monitor both the uplink 145.050 and downlink 145.650mhz at the same time?

I just don't know how to configurate the K3 so as to monitor the uplink using the KRX3 subreceiver.

BTW, how I can use the S meter to read signal strength of the uplink and downlink?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi Johnny,

- turn the sub RX on
- set VFO A to the desired frequency and FM mode
- tap A>B twice to copy all A settings to B, then move B to the desired
frequency
- use BSET to make sure the sub's antenna is set to MAIN, then exit BSET
- set up squelch for main and sub (see SQ MAIN and SQ SUB menu entries)

This should do it. You should use the latest firmware release (3.11).

Let me know if you're still not getting the expected results.

K3 Issue with 3.11/2.15

Gregg W6IZT
K3 sn 47

I just upgraded to the latest fw and when I power up the radio I get a brief
shrill audio tone, the S meter pegs at full scale with no rx audio. After
about 10-15 seconds the rx recovers and appears to operate normally. Is this
a know issue with this release?

Hi Gregg,

I've been using 3.11/2.15 for some time and have never observed what
you describe.

You might want to try reloading the firmware to see if that helps.

Don't forget to update ALL the files when going to the new firmware.
That includes the DSP files, FPF file and the DSP data tables.
