Hi,
I'm looking at the XV50 transverter. I would like to use this transverter on 6m with an external amplifier that permit only 10W RF IN maximum. Will it be easy to make sure that the transverter in not giving more than 10W of drive to the amplifier.... Will the output power selected with the power knob on the K2 will show the real RF output on the transverter ? I'm not too familiar with transverter and how they work... For your info, my external amplifier if a Tokyo Hy-Power HL-100Bdx. Thank for your time. ============================================= /¯\/¯\/¯\/¯\/¯\/¯\ JEAN-FRANCOIS MENARD V A 2 V Y Z \_/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_/ Elecraft K2 #4130 Elecraft KX1 #999 http://homepage.mac.com/jfmenard ============================================= _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Hi
The XV50 can be set up several ways. If you are using a K2 with the 60 meter transverter option then the power control on the K2 will control the output of the XV50. The XV 50 has a watt meter on the front panel and you can just set it for 10 watts out. You could also set the internal gain so the XV50 will only output a maximum of 10 watts. There are several other ways to do what you want with the internal jumper options in the XV50 depending on the radio you want to drive the XV50 with and the level of the drive. This can be a 1 to 1 mw, 0 to 5 watts or a fixed 5 watt level.
