Hello Don and Ron:
I got my new power module in the mail today and it went right in without a
hitch. Alignment at that point went very smooth. I used a DL-1 to measure
voltage and then chart it out to 20 watts. My LP-100 is waiting to be built.
:-) I figured 22 volts was about 20 watts and that worked great. All the
other parts of the alignment went fine except:
Part IX: Overload Protection test - I couldn't get this to work. Removing
the jumper JP8 removes power from the transverter. This can be turned on
manually with the power switch, but I left it off as the instructions said
nothing about it. Removing the serial control cable, disables the
transverter entirely - no power with or without the front switch on. Keying
the transmitter resulted in nothing except a higher SWR light on the KAT100.
LO Oscillator Frequency Calibration: Using my Mark V on 12M, I find I'm off
on 6M by about 700 Hz. But where the heck is Z6 trimmer capacitor. I suspect
it should be C64, since I haven't touched that one yet. :-)
