audio cable adapter for computer to k2.

I am looking for the best way to build a headphone out to line in attenuator.
I am thinking from reading that I should have 1/8 inch to wire 2 (1/4) plug.
center conductor a pot. And center 100k ohm resister to ring conductor.

Would this be the best way to make one of these?
