I'm sure all this has been discussed but for whatever reason I can't find
the thread. When the new amp is available, will the compatible autotuner be in the same box or separate? Will it be ready at the same time as the amp, or later? Any news on its price? thanks, Tony KT0NY -- "We don't want every single college grad with mathematical aptitude to become a derivatives trader." -- Barack Obama ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Hi Tony,
There's no autotuner within the KPA500. I think the introduction of the KAT500 will be sometime after the KPA500. Perhaps someone with better knowledge than myself will speak to the matter. I notice the Macro/Power Setting threads going on here as well. It will be nice if the K3/100 and KPA500 will sense each other and adapt. Specifically, the power required output of the K3 might typically be 100 watts, but something less than that will likely drive the KPA500 to full output. Will the K3's power level be able to automatically reset to an owner preset level when the KPA500 is inline and out of standby mode? 73, Dick - KA5KKT ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- I'm sure all this has been discussed but for whatever reason I can't find the thread. *Ed,
The KPA-500 only requires a maximum of 40w for full output. Mostly 31-35w achieves full power out. Yes. There will be two "per band" power settings, one with amp in, one with amp out. The K3 will also alert you to amp hard-fault conditions (those which put it into standby), in case you were too far from the amp to see it or hear its own alarm. 73, Wayne N6KR > > > > 73, > Dick - KA5KKT > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > ---- > > I'm sure all this has been discussed but for whatever reason I can't > find > the thread.
