Hello,
I am new in RTTY and settled up my K3 in DATA mode = AFSK A to do few QSO´s during CQWW RTTY contest. I noticed that sometimes the K3 change alone to FSK D Do you know why happens this? 73, Jorge CX6VM K3 #4077 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Jorge,
The data sub-modes are remembered per band. For example, if you set the K3 to FSK D for 20 meters, and then set to AFSK A for 40 meters, both of those settings will be remembered. 73, Don W3FPR On 9/24/2011 11:31 PM, Jorge Diez - CX6VM wrote: > Hello, > > > > I am new in RTTY and settled up my K3 in DATA mode = AFSK A to do few QSO´s > during CQWW RTTY contest. > > I noticed that sometimes the K3 change alone to FSK D > > Do you know why happens this? > > > Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Hi Don,
playing a Little more, I noticed that when I click in a callsign in the N1MM bandmap, the K3 change to FSK D Will ask in N1MM list 73, Jorge CX6VM -----Mensaje original----- De: Don Wilhelm [mailto:[hidden email]] Enviado el: Domingo, 25 de Septiembre de 2011 03:25 a.m. Para: Jorge Diez - CX6VM CC: [hidden email] Asunto: Re: [Elecraft] change DATA mode alone Jorge, The data sub-modes are remembered per band. Jorge,
That does sound like N1MM is changing the data submode for you. From the K3 Programmer's Reference, the DT command will set the DATA sub-mode (if the K3 is already in DATA mode). The MD command will set the K3 mode. MD6; would set DATA mode, and then DT2; would set FSK D. There may be menu settings in N1MM to control the behavior, so asking on the N1MM list is a prudent thing to do. 73, Don W3FPR On 9/25/2011 9:28 AM, Jorge Diez - CX6VM wrote: > Hi Don, > > playing a Little more, I noticed that when I click in a callsign in the N1MM > bandmap, the K3 change to FSK D > > Will ask in N1MM list > > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Hi Don,
that´s right. I received an answer from John K3CT that was working with K3 and N1MM Jorge, See section 3 of the manual: http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php?page=Supported+Radios&structure=N1MM+ Logger+Documentation The RTTY selection is mapped to the K3 radio mode of FSK D. Just if it´s of help for someone else 73, Jorge CX6VM -----Mensaje original----- De: Don Wilhelm [mailto:[hidden email]] Enviado el: Domingo, 25 de Septiembre de 2011 11:02 a.m. Para: Jorge Diez - CX6VM CC: [hidden email] Asunto: Re: [Elecraft] change DATA mode alone Jorge, That does sound like N1MM is changing the data submode for you. >From the K3 Programmer's Reference, the DT command will set the DATA sub-mode (if the K3 is already in DATA mode). Jorge,
In N1MM, click on Config, then click on top selection Configure Ports, Mode Control, etc., click on the Mode Control tab and then look for selection under Mode Sent to Radio. For RTTY to -- select AFSK. Sub-mode is specified on the "Mode Control" tab in the N1MM configuration dialog. N1MM K3 ----------------------------- RTTY ..... FSK D (LSB) RTTY-R ... FSK D REV (USB) PSK ...... DATA A (USB) PSK-R .... DATA A REV (LSB) AFSK ..... AFSK A (LSB) AFSK-R ... AFSK A (USB) 73, ...
