Hi.
Is it possible to clone one KX3 from another as I can not see anything in the paperwork to assist with this question and if so HOW? David. Hi David:
Well... by cloning, I assume you mean frequency memories, message memories and macros. That's an interesting question, since while you can save and preserve all the settings of a particular KX3 via the Utility, I think there are some rig-specific settings which are extremely important. Perhaps the software gurus will add a cloning option to the utility... unless it's already there and I don't know about it. :) 73 de Ray K2ULR KX3 #211 On Sep 9, 2013, at 6:06 AM, vk3fmpw wrote: > Hi. > Is it possible to clone one KX3 from another as I can not see > anything in the paperwork to assist with this question and if so HOW? > > David. > VK3FMPW. > > > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I don't know for sure, but if the kx3 is like the k3...the utility program sees the radio serial number and will only re write to the same serial.... The configuration save file contains only what is cleared by Parameter Initialization (EEINIT), which is a small part of the radio's total state.
KX3 Utility Help describes in general terms what is and is not included in this file. 73 de Dick, K6KR On Sep 10, 2013, at 6:20 PM, "Jeff Herr" <[hidden email]> wrote: > why cant you use the kx3 utility to back up one unit then restore those > setting to a second unit? > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [hidden email] > [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Ray Sills > Sent: Monday, September 9, 2013 6:30 AM > To: vk3fmpw > Cc: elecraft list > Subject: Re: [Elecraft] cloning > > Hi David: > > Well... by cloning, I assume you mean frequency memories, message memories > and macros.
