correction on high SWR

Okay...slight correction.  If I xmit in the usual mode, the freq
display stays in there.  If I hit TUNE, I get the "3.5-1" and I get
that irrespective of the SWR (even if good SWR), except (of course),
the numbers change.

So....

1.  I assume that 5 watts out is 5 watts out (or 10 or 50w)
irrespective of a tuner, and

2.  That the radio will protect itself from a "bad" SWR.

Yes?
