What's the best way to interface a K3 with a Centurion QSK amplifier? I
can run the keying through the Centurion back to the K3 (as Ten Tec suggests), or key the K3 directly and let the TX DLY remain 008 to delay the time RF appears relative to asserting the KEY OUT line. I'm going to try the K3 out on 160 this weekend (during CQWW160) and will most likely be using the Centurion amp. My K3 keys my Centurion directly via the key out jack of the K3 and key-in
jack on the Centurion. No additional delay seems necessary and QSK is very smooth. And EU can be strong even after your SR in the US.
Best of luck to all in the contest. Hope we don't lose power due to the ice/snow storm moving into the area. 73, Julius

I don't have antenna space for that band but look for my very good friend Julio AD4Z from Miami/FL, a professional contester who never miss that one and he always does it with his K3 barefoot and a Battlecreek vertical antenna
.Good luck to all who will do it. Yes,
My K3 will do the work at PI4D, nice vertical for TX/RX and EW-beverage for the sub rx. Diversity of course. 73 Arie PA3A -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] Namens chen dave Verzonden: vrijdag 29 januari 2010 14:20 Aan: [hidden email] Onderwerp: [Elecraft] cqww 160m contest Hello all, Anyone will take part in the cqww 160m contest? Rob, Like the FT1000MP, the K3 includes circuitry so that the DC signal "keys the amp" occurs about 8 msec before RF output. The 8 msec is adjustable by a menu setting. The 8 msec default works fine with my Ten Tec Titan 425 amps in both QSK and semi-QSK mode. 73, Jim K9YC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
