current update procedure for K3

could someone send me the procedure for updating. I do not have sound card attached to my computer just yet

Do you mean updating K3 firmware?   If that's the case, visit our K3
software page

http://www.elecraft.com/K3/k3_software.htm

and install the K3 Utility from a link near the bottom of the page.  Then
follow the instructions in K3 Utility Help, "Getting Started".
