Re: cw keyboard?

Cookie
Tony, it is some kind of electronic keyer with a keyboard interface.
Several companies make them and the capabilities will vary from one to another.
K1EL makes them with or without the keyboard, or you can use one of the general
purpose "super keyboards" as manufactured by Hewlett Packard, Dell, Gateway and
many others along with a low cost or free logging program. (AKA Personal
Computer).  This answer sounds pretty flippant, but I don't know how else to
answer the question.

It may well be a MFJ 452 /Super CW Keyboard/. I suggest you google
/'Super CW Keyboard/' and examine the entries. I have an MFJ keyboard,
which is basically an IBM-style (mini DB-6) keyboard, an outboard box
that converts the keystrokes into relay closures, and a wallwart power
supply. It is a nice thing to have in the shack if you are a fast touch
typist, as it is buffered, so you can send well ahead of the TX stream,
and with a little practice you can even send well ahead of your thoughts...
