Leo,
There is no way that I know of for an individual subscriber to set a
limit on the number of posts in a digest.
But there are alternatives --
My opinion follows - YMMV
If shorter digests are your desire, it may be easier just to get the
very shortest form - individual postings - rather than the digest. Most
Email clients have a sorting capability, and I place all email with
'[Elecraft]' in the subject line into my Elecraft folder - that keeps
the reflector emails separate from my other email. Mozilla Thunderbird
and a few others will also allow you to view the posts in threaded
format if you like that format. Responding to an individual email is
easier if you receive the individual posts.
Receiving individual posts can also allow you to quickly delete those
that you are not interested in and retain only those of interest.
The only reason I can understand for receiving the email in digest form
is to consolidate the posts into one joint email, and I find that
cumbersome to wade through separating the wheat from the chaff because
it must be done in a serial manner - the individual posts sorted by my
email makes that separation task a lot faster and easier.
