I've used MixW for 7 years, and always been happy with it. However, I'd
like to learn from those who have used other similar software. Here's what I use MixW for: It maintains my log, transmits/receives CW, RTTY and PSK, serves as a voice keyer, figures antenna headings and puts them on a display, and has a cluster interface that puts the calls of posted stations on the bandmap/waterfall. It allows extensive macro programming. It has other capabilities but those are the ones I use. I have visited the websites of a number of other programs looking for one with all the same functionality, but I'm not finding it. I'd be grateful for suggestions. 73, Tony KT0NY -- http://www.isb.edu/faculty/facultydir.aspx?ddlFaculty=352 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Tony,
I use DXLabs. I works just great with the K3 and you can configure macro command buttons AND SLIDERS for variable controls. I have tried just about every program I can find and for me at least DXLabs is the best...AND...it is free. You download the Launcher program and from that you can tell it to download and install the various modules (Commander, DXView, DXKeeper, Pathfinder, Propview and WinWarbler). You can run one or any of the modules at the same time. The support is just great from Dave, AA6YQ, and the DXL reflector. Give it a try...if you don't like it, just remove the programs. 73 Greg AB7R On Tue, Nov 29, 2011 at 9:55 AM, Tony Estep <[hidden email]> wrote: > I've used MixW for 7 years, and always been happy with it. If it does, I can't see it on their website. Try fldigi. It works with pskreporter for digimode spots.
It has beam headings in it, and extensive macro facilities. I have a macro which rotates my antenna and another which sets my steppir, as I don't use the auto-follow feature. fldigi runs on Win/Lin/Mac. Leigh/WA5ZNU |
