display off ?

I know everyone has some particular thing they do, but lets keep the use of precious memory to things that benefit the masses.

If there is a menu item to turn off the display, how will one then use the display to turn the menu item back on?

The request was to turn the backlight off. The display is still perfectly readable. The DAY setting does indeed turn the backlight off, but the LEDs instead light up really, really brightly. I would also like to see a setting where the backlight is turned off.

Have it come back on the next time the unit is powered up?

I don't want to get into whether a particular feature should or should
not be included into the interface - if enough people want it,
Elecraft might add it, the chances are they will if it looks like a
good idea and enough people want it.

However, I don't understand why you'd want the display off - how do
you then use the rig?
