It is amazing that some allegedly well informed self appointed experts cannot grasp the idea that if one MUST receive the reflector in digest form, for whatever reason, one CANNOT use e-mail filters...Lotsa flames coming!...

There is no fundamental reason why not.  I don't have Outlook in front
of me, but I am fairly sure, as long as you request the digest in RFC
822 digest format, you can simply move the attachments into a folder
then manually run a set of filters on that folder.

However, most people that take digests do so because they want to
control the number of items, but not aggressively filter.  I can't think
of a reason why anyone would be forced to take the list in digest format.

On Unix, it might be possible to burst the digest with metamail,
otherwise a fairly simple Perl script will do the job.  You can then use
procmail to filter.

Ultimately, any limitation is in the mail user agent you are using, not
in the digest form of delivery.

Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want.
RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam,
that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work.
