Hi! All
I'm finishing my K2 and I did the resistance checks. I have 2.27K ohms result on the Q7 base instead of 2.5K-3.0K ohms. Because of the minim difference I run the k2 with this failded test and I have 520 ma reading. Any one have an Idea? Sylvain,
I doubt that the high receive current is due to that incorrect resistance reading. One of the possible causes for a high receive current is if 8T is on during receive - measure the voltage on Control Board Q1 collector, it should be zero or very close to that during receive. Check the orientation of diodes D6 and D7 - the easiest way to check diode orientation is to compare with the parts placement diagram in the back of the manual. You may want to check to see if any resistors are getting quite warm - that will indicate what circuit is drawing too much current. If it is like the one with similar symptoms that I repaired Friday, RF Board R49 was getting hot due to a leaky collector to base junction in Q5 - but your problem may be quite different. > -----Original Message----- > > I'm finishing my K2 and I did the resistance checks. Juste to be sure, i'm talking about Q7 on the rf board. Sorry for that
