hello all,
Well, I hit my first snag with k2 # 5723. On page 61 of the manual in the vco alignment, I measured the voltage of r30 first out at 2.33. that was with the tuning slug, L30 turned all the way in. turning the slug out the voltage changed to 2.44. this is no where near the 6 volts. My question is, the manual says if the voltage does not change, refer to troubleshooting. I can't find anything in troubleshooting that refers to this. With the small change, I am afraid I will need to rewind t5. Anyone have the same problem? Hello Mike,
Don Wilhelm usually sees these requests. Until he sees it try checking the cap values in the vco circuit mis-interpreting the value is a source of the symptoms you have. Check soldering, Check soldering, Check components and then soldering. Check bad soldering/tinning of t5. If there is a reason that you think t5 is mis-wound then by all means rewind it. If it is a hunch check the other components and soldering first Happy Building Rick Kent WD8AJG K2 5296 & 5996 hello all, Well, I hit my first snag with k2 # 5723.
