frequently low batt

Norbert Roedel
Since I installed the latest software on KSB2 I realize frequently " low
batt" message at the diplay of my K2.

Anyone got the same problem or have an idea?

Ser.Nr. 1020,

Greetings out of the snowy cold northern Bavaria.

I expect there is really nothing wrong.
It is most likely that you bumped the 'display voltage' slide switch on the
top of the Control Board during the firmware install.  Check and move it
back to the INT position.  I believe it will 'cure' the problem.
Newer K2s (3000+) have a jumper instead of the switch because of this
situation.

Did you accidentally bump the slide switch S1 near the top of the control board
when you had the cover off?

I wonder if anyone HAS NOT accidentally bumped this switch.  Anyone have a
solution for future versions?  This seems to a be fairly simple problem to
fix, but its certainly happened to quite a few of us.

Re: frequently low batt

Tom,

The 'problem' has already been fixed - the later K2s use a jumper instead of
the switch.  For those having older K2s, simply removing the switch and
adding a jumper will disable the switch function.  I don't think many folks
use the external voltmeter function of the K2 - but I have not changed mine
because I envision the time when I use my K2 portable, have a problem, and
there is no other voltmeter available - yes, unlikely, but still a
possibility.
