I was doing something odd. Stock 2.7KHz filter, CW mode, V4.61.
Removed all equalization. Wanted to adjust high cut or low cut. Tapped shift control. Did not revert to high cut/low cut mode. Ditto for tapping width control. Can't simulate this with shift because of it's limited range. High cut/low cut works fine in SSB mode. 73 de Brian/K3KO ----- No virus found in this message. Shift =.05 does do something but the result still is not as expected.us.
Here's the results with a 2.7 KHz filter First high cut maxs out a 2.0 KHz, low cut can go to zero. High cut low cut 2.0 no effect 1.8 0-0.2 1.6 0-0.4 1.4 0-0.6 1.2 0-0.8 1.1 0-0.9 1.0 0-0.9 First, why is does high cut not go to 2.7 KHz? BW for this set of data is 2.7 in the BW/SHIFT mode. Second it does not appear that the high cut and low cut controls are independent. I'm curious about the reason for these observations. 73 de Brian/K3KO On 3/20/2013 13:23, Joe Subich, W4TV wrote: > > > Turn CONFIG:CW QRQ to OFF. > > and/or reset CONFIG:SHIFT=0.01 to SHIFT=0.05 > > 73, > > ... > First, why is does high cut not go to 2.7 KHz? That is the way the DSP is designed. High and Low Cut are limited to pitch +/- half the filter width. Based on your data, it looks like your pitch is 500 Hz. > BW for this set of data is 2.7 in the BW/SHIFT mode. Can't be ... you may have started at 2.7 KHz but BW is defined as 2 x (FH-FC) so as soon as you moved either FL or FH BW changed. 73, ...
