how to run KAT100 and control software - re. two control cables

Brian Pepperdine
OK. Honestly I have searched the mail list archives and manuals...and cannot
find the answer....

I have a K2 with 100 w PA (so that serves in place of K102 i/w aux bus), and
the KAT100 tuner.  A cable runs from the K2 aux DB9 to the tuner.
Now, I want to run a cable from my computer to allow me to use the K2 Remote
Software.
I have the cable.. but there is no place to put it!!
I assume I have to use some sort of DB9  connector.. but what sort and where
do I plug that it in such that the KAT100 tuner and the computer are
connected?
Does it go in the K2 aux socket and then cables go off to the KAT 100 and
the computer? Or some other way that KAT100 and computer software signals
are sent in a parallel fashion?

If any one would please outline this in some detail or point me to where
this it explained I would really appreciate it. Someone else might too..
since I honestly don't see it anywhere.
But then again, my wife says I don't see things that are in plain sight.

Brian,

You will need to make a special cable with three (3)connectors to connect
the appropriate signals to both the KAT100 and the RS-232 port on your PC.
See page 25 of the KAT100 manual for details.

Don't try to a standard serial I/O cable for the RS-232, that will do bad
things to your K2/100. Make the special cable.

RE: how to run KAT100 and control software re. two control cables

Brian Pepperdine

Thanks to all for the reference to p.25 of the KAT100 manual on this
subject.
Chastised myself - chalk it up to reading the  pdf file on slow computer :)
and the page scrolling by me in a chunky way I guess.

Brian
