Alignment and test part II page 46 right column receive test: No signals heard any band. I have plenty of audio volume [white noise] but no CW signals. Almost like no antenna is connected. The antenna is one from my non-qrp rig so it is okay. All resistance/voltages checks to this point are satisfactory. I'm not certain but since all bands are affected I figure the problem should should be in the KFL-4 assembly any suggestions.... de rc kc5wa _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Although you may indeed have an assembly problem, it is difficult to
determine from a distance. Re-check the soldering and check to be certain that T1 thru T4 have well tinned leads and also have the wires in the correct holes. Try injecting a stronger signal (an antenna may not be adequate), and once you can hear something getting through, then follow the alignment instructions for the Pre-Mixer and the bandpass filters. Operating another transceiver into a dummy load placed near a wire to the K1 antenna jack is one way to create a strong signal. If you have a 'scope, you could to use that to align the Pre-Mixer bandpass trimmers and make the task a bit easier, and then align the RF bandpass filters in receive after you are assurred there is an adequate signal level at the correct frequency going to the mixer(s). The signal out of the pre-mixer tuned circuits are active in both receive and transmit. Follow the same band order as indicated in the manual when aligning the trimmers (for each band pair, align the high band first then the lower band. 73, Don W3FPR > -----Original Message----- > > receive test: > > No signals heard any band. > I have plenty of audio volume [white noise] but no CW signals. > Almost like no antenna is connected.
