Hi to all
I have a questions about filter calibration on the k2... I have take a K2, and in a second time i have build and mount the KPA100... Serial number is 5985. My cw filter are set at 1.0 0.7 0.4 and 015 Hz i would set the first cw filter from 1.0Khz to 1.5khz wide. i Have find a fine article abouth that, and have see the prodecure on my manual... The problem is this... I set the filter from 1.0 to 1.5Khz, and i can hear a different noise sound from the receiver, but when i want to exit from the CAL FIL menu, on display the K2 Show a message INFO 230, and the receiver back to 1.0Khz sound and when exit from menu the filter back to 1.0khz also on display. Looking at manual INFO 230 is an error because i haven't connected the frequency counter on the BFO test poit (RF TP2). Is it absolutely neccessary? What is the right procedure? i have try to set the calibration using also the spectrogram software....it works, but the K2 don't memorize my set... If i read the BFO control parameter now i see BF1t122c. where's my error???? Many thanks in advance Paul IK1QHB ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Paul,
Yes, it is necessary to put the internal counter probe in TP2 to adjust the filters - without it, the K2 indicates an ERROR 230. The microprocessor must read the frequency to store the proper BFO settings into EEPROM. Look at the K2 Dial Calibration article on my website www.w3fpr.com to see the entire process of dial calibration and the filter settings. 73, Don W3FPR On 12/13/2010 1:20 PM, Paolo Emanuelli IK1QHB wrote: > Hi to all > > I have a questions about filter calibration on the k2... > I have take a K2, and in a second time i have build and mount the KPA100... > Serial number is 5985. > My cw filter are set at 1.0 0.7 0.4 and 015 Hz > i would set the first cw filter from 1.0Khz to 1.5khz wide. > i Have find a fine article abouth that, and have see the prodecure on my manual...
