[k3] ERR BP2 Message

Doug Turnbull
Gentlemen,

I am getting an ERR BP2 message on my fully loaded K3 which includes a
sub receiver and one BFP3 general coverage module on the main RF board.
The firmware is the latest but this problem existed on the previous firmware
as well.
Present Firmware Loaded:

MCU     03.97
FDF      01.09

DSP1    02.58

DSP2    02.58

DVR     01.03

Tapping any switch removes ERR BP2 message and no other message appears.
If I turn the K3 off and then back on the error message reappears.   At the
same time the BPF3 seems to be working fine.   I can tune down onto the
Medium Wave or AM band and can tune onto the shortwave bands and the main
receiver seems to work just fine.

If I go to Config Menu and try to indicate that the BPF3 is not installed,
"not inst" the K3 continues to operate outside the amateur bands but I do
not get the ERR BP2 message.   Turning the radio off and back on makes no
difference as the ERR BP2 message is then removed and the radio continues to
work.    I have the BPF3 set as "not inst" for the sub RX through out all of
this and the Sub RX is not being used during any of these exercises.   The
single BPF3 is mounted on the main RF board.

The K3 is kit built.    I would rather not have to remove the BPF3 as memory
tells me it is beneath the sub receiver and removing the BPF3 would be a
pain; besides the BPF3 seems to be working just fine.

Otherwise the K3 is working fine on CW and SSB.

I can not remember when this error message first appeared and I am remiss in
being sloppy about this.

Can any of you good people throw some light on my problem?   I most
appreciate your guidance.
