I use n1mm as my contest software and I asked about using n1mm to key a
installed k3 dvr. Im glad to see it can be done. My question is has anyone used a usbIII from Microham and n1mm. I travel on occasion to different places for contests and keeping equipment to a minimum or at least minimum space is always an objective. Has anyone used the usbIII and n1mm? If I remember correctly the usb III is only good for cw and digital modes (but I could be wrong!) has anyone tried to key a k3dvr with a usb III in line? or is this something that needs to be out of the line if try to key the k3dvr? in other words can you send the command through the usb III to the K3 or does it have to be removed? thanks Mike/aj9c ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
USB III (Router) is transparent to the CAT commands. There is no issue in sending any of the N1MM {CATASCxx} commands through it. Because USB Interface II, III and DigiKeyer connect to the "line in" port in the transceiver, "USB Audio CODEC" is intended to support DVK. That doesn't mean that a user can't configure the K3 for "mic + Line In" and allow playback from the logger DVK. The same applies to Ten-Tec Mic+Aux and some other rigs which MIX the two inputs. However, microHAM will not support that configuration or provide any assistance to configure it due to performance and audio quality issues. 73, ... Hello Mike,
No problem using my K3's DVR with N1MM and the Microham USB III. Using the "F" buttons to key the KDVR works great. Also tried the "Enter sends mode" in N1MM and that also works fine. It's just a USB to serial interface (OK, it has a build in sound card) so why wouldn't it work? 73, Maarten PD2R 2010/6/3 Mike Kasrich <[hidden email]> > I use n1mm as my contest software and I asked about using n1mm to key a > installed k3 dvr.
