KX1 ser #1056
Alignment and Test Part I.
pages 28 and 29
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
everything checks out ok
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am however concerned about the voltage checks.
U1, pin 1 5+- 0.25 Vdc........read...4.87
U1, pin 3 6+- 0.25 Vdc........read...4.87 also ( this one bothers me )
D2, anode: Supply Voltage.....read...13.36vdc
D2, cathode: Supply Voltage-0.3 Vdc aarox ..read.. 13.06

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am however concerned about the voltage checks.
D2, anode: <20mV  AC rms....read... 0
D2, cathode: <20mv  AC rms ..read.. 0
U1, pin 1 <20mV  AC rms....read... 0
U1, pin 3 <20mV  AC rms....read... 0
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ANd I did use 3 differant DMM to confirm these readings
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Any advice accepted tnx  de "rc' kc5wa
RE: kx1 #1056
Don Wilhelm-3
RC,
All those voltages look fine to me.
I am not certain where you found reference to 6 volts on U1 pin 3, the
voltage chart in the manual shows it as 4.78 +/- 10%, so you are within
normal.
The <20 mv voltages can (and likely should) read 0 volts.  The '<' indicates
that the voltage must be less than that numerical value.  some DMMs may pick
up noise on their leads or otherwise show a small voltage when no true
voltage actually exists, so the manual figures try to allow for that
occurrance.
Don W3FPR
