On pg 28 right coluum 2nd step:
checking AC measurements using DMM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Should an RF probe be used.
Instructions do not state either way
---------------------------------
No. The oscillation you are checking for would be in the normal a-c range of
your DMM. That's why the instructions say to probe those points with your
DMM in the 200 to 300 millivolt a-c range.
RF probes rectify the signal and provide a d-c level for the meter to
indicate. Most RF probes have resistors in them to produce a d-c reading on
the meter equivalent to the RMS voltage of the RF signal - assuming a good
sinusoidal waveform.
